This is a little travel case I picked up at an auction, well the person who bought the whole cart of junk was going to throw it away so I took it!!! Saved it all winter so that I could plant something in it.

The photo with the bench and saddle are one of the perks of my job.. I work at a landfill and most of the guys know I love junk. So the bench and the saddle are some of the things people actually throw away and in turn I get. The boots however are quite another story... You see I've been married to my guy for 19 years, and in those 19 years he has never really bought me anything himself. He has always sent our oldest daughter to the store to buy me presents for birthdays, etc. Well this one time he goes and buys me the Ariat boots I want at the Tractor Supply.. I loved them to pieces mainly because he actually walked into a store and made the purchase himself. I had them all of 2 weeks and our chocolate lab chewed them up. I cried and all the man said was "You should have put them up!!!". They were up on my trunk in the bedroom and she still got them down and destroyed them. So rather than throw my one great memory away, I planted flowers in them and I think they look wonderful!!
Hi everyone!!! It's been a month since I've posted... Wow!!! Two of my grandsons are playing ball, I've been trying to go to as many games as I can!!! I've also been working in my flower garden. Planted flowers between rain showers. My hands look like crap because I have a hard time wearing gloves but I'm no princess so they just look bad until it wears off!!!

I will post pictures of what I've done so far in the garden as soon as I figure out how to do that..

I've been reading alot of other peoples blogs and admiring all there creativity on the blog pages, I want pretty and I can't figure out how to do this. But I'll keep on plugging along until I figure it out!!! Have a great weekend all!!!

It is raining cats and dogs here right now.. The satillite keeps going in and out so I thought I'd type a while. The yardsale at the Painted Daisy went well I did unload alot of the items I had listed. So maybe the rest will go on Ebay. The shipping was unreal, I didn't realize that the shipping for the United States Post Office had went up so much.

The news is even more depressing to watch, now with this Swine Flu and GM stating they are going to lay off 21,000 more people. It scares the heck out of me. But we can only pray the we all get through this big rut... I need some sunshine!!!!

6 year olds say the funniest things!!

My husband and I met our daughter and her two little ones for supper Tuesday night. Hubby and daughter ordered these really pretty margarita's. Out they came in the fancy glass and topped with huge chunks of fruit. Well Ethan who is 6 looked straight at the waitress and said " I'd like to have one of those drinks but without the alcohol please". I just about spit my tea out through my nose... Well a few minutes later here she come with his drink and all the fruit... Boy was he excited... That little comment made me smile all week.... That's one thing that gets me through the ruts!!!
Hi everyone... My first shot at blogging.. My name is Kim and I live in a rural area of Illinois. I have a wonderful husband, 4 grown kids and 7 of the cutest ever grandchildren. We have way to many horses, one ornery pony and a half crazy chihuahua mix pup. I love to sew, antique, repurpose, garage sale, and thrift store hunting!!! I hope to make this a fun place to visit every now and again!! Take care.
